Women political skills training

What is the project about?
Aspiring to increase political understanding and participation among women in different regions of Ethiopia, and aiming to prepare state and opposition parties to put forward many more female candidates in the 2005 elections, the project started in November 1999.
As a starting point, the British Council held a training of trainers’ workshop in political campaigning skills. Eleven political parties are involved in this project. In the consecutive training programs the regional trainers and the core trainers will reach a total audience of 4550.
All participating parties have now formed women’s groups who work together on a cross-party basis which obviously increases their chances of making significant changes on the political scene. FCO Africa Command budget was the funding agency for the above project.

Who are our partners?
The women political skills training's are organised by the British Council and co-funded by the British Embassy.
