Creating digital communities

We run a successful programme aiming to enhance access to the Internet and supporting the development of an effective regulatory environment in Ethiopia.

This programme facilitates discussions around the ICTs policy and regulatory processes and develops pilot community telecentres to demonstrate the role of ICTs in socio-economic development of communities. It also includes creation of e-communities around interest groups.

Multipurpose community telecentres
The very limited Information and communication technologies available in Ethiopia are concentrated mainly in the capital. The British Council in Ethiopia, has therefore, initiated this project to establish four telecentres in four public libraries outside Addis Ababa. Find out more
