Development Partnerships in Higher Education (DelPHE) is a new scheme which will support partnerships between Higher Education Institutions in the UK and overseas, finding new ways to fight global poverty.
The UK Government's Department for International Development (DFID) will invest up to £3 million a year in a new Development Partnerships in Higher Education programme (DelPHE), which will run for a seven year period, from June 2006 to March 2013.
The programme will provide funding for partnerships between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) working on collaborative activity linked to development goals. DFID’s 25 bilateral focus countries will be eligible for funding. All partnerships must demonstrate a commitment to the Millennium Development Goals (http://www.un.org/millenniumgoals).
Overall details on the DelPHE, including application form and guidance notes, on how to complete and submit your project proposals, are available from its website at http://www.britishcouncil.org/delphe.htm or can be obtained from the British Council Ethiopia’s office by contacting us by email or visiting us in person.
For 2006/07 financial year, up to 31 March 2007, we will be accepting two rounds of project proposals. The first round of applications will be received until 20 July 2006 and the second round of applications until 31st January 2007.
