Scholarships for students in Form 10 and young teachers

The Headmasters and Headmistresses Conference announces the following scholarships

We invite active students with good academic progress, currently studying in Form 10 to apply for a scholarship enabling them to study at an UK independent school in the academic year of 2010-2011.

British independent schools cover the study fee and living expenses (17 000 - 20 000 GBP). The participation costs of the scholarship in the amount of 2000 GBP (about 39 800 EEK) should be covered by parents and/or sponsors. Parents also cover the flight costs to the UK and return.

Applications are invited from teachers or university students training to be teachers to spend one year in a British Independent school as a Teacher Assistants.

Teachers of the following subjects are most easily placed: Maths, Sciences, IT, Design and technology, Art, Music, Physical education, Junior classes and possibly also French, German, Spanish, History and Geography. Teachers of English should offer another subject.

The independent school covers the living costs and pays a monthly stipend.

Travel and participation costs of 750 GBP (13 500 kroons) have to be covered by the candidates. Money is not requested to be transferred in advance as the payment is divided into two parts and paid during the year of assistantship

The programme is administered by Tallinn University Language Centre
Application deadline is 21 December 2009
Successful applicants will be interviewed by the HMC representatives in February 2010.
