Green Fairytales

Since January 2007, the British Council in co-operation with the Estonian Green Movement and the daily Eesti Päevaleht has been exploring the issue of urban sprawl. We started our Green Fairytales event programme with a roundtable of specialists discussing the topic.

In May and June 2007, hundreds of people joined us for four Green Fairytales bike rides that took us to the areas around Tallinn to see the urban sprawl reality.

We would like to thank all the participants and partners for making the Green Fairytales events such a success. We will return to the topic of urban sprawl in the future, so keep an eye on this space.
Kumu ÖÖ, vol. 2

Kumu Night is becoming an annual cultural event where, for one night, whole Kumu Art Museum's first floor and courtyard is filled with exciting music and visual arts. this year, the programme will fill three spaces: the lobby, the Big exhibition hall and the auditorium.

The choice of artists is as wide as ever - from Jah Wobble's world-beat-dub and Jimi Tenor's rainbow of styles to the minimalist elctronic symphonies of Mira Calix and abstract surreal folk of Islaja. As almost a tradition, Kumu Night will also present thebest of new Estonian music - this time it will be Broken Time Orchestra and Vaiko Eplik & Eliit.

Therapy? and Mesh / Rabarock
Rabarock is to be the biggest rockfestival in in the Baltics, taking place from 10 to 11 June at Järvakandi. During the two-day event the audience will get to hear and admire 18 bands - from the UK, Sweden, Finland, Latvia and Estonia.
