Darwin Now is a global initiative which explores the impact of Charles Darwin’s remarkable legacy in the 21st century. 2009 will celebrate two landmark anniversaries for science, the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Darwin and the 150th anniversary since the publication of his groundbreaking work On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection. Our international programme of activities will look at how Darwin’s theory of evolution continues to influence biology and other branches of science today, and provide an opportunity for people to explore some of the most fundamental of questions about the origin, nature and distribution of life.
