Introduction
The British Council strives to be fair to all – fair to those who are the subjects of our content, fair to contributors, and fair to our audiences.

We are open, honest and straightforward in our dealings with contributors and audiences.

Consent
Contributors’ personal details, comments or other personal information must not be given to third parties without their consent. See section 5 (Privacy), on personal information,  and section 16 (The Law), on the Data Protection Act.

There are stringent conditions about children and consent. See section 7 (Children).

Reproduction of content
Contributors to British Council output online, in print, or through audio visual media must be made aware that their contribution may be used by other parts of the British Council, including in the form of transcripts online. Where appropriate, legal consent must be agreed for the right to reproduce content in this way.
