FUTURE PRODUCTIONS In the summer of 2009 Cryptic will present a double bill: Confined Human Condition (working title). The evening will focus on how two different women react to extreme situations. One has been forced into this situation as a direct result of war, the other has chosen to be treated cruelly and explores the terror of love. The two women take to the stage: In their powerless situation they experience many emotions from anger to desire, from pain to lust and from despair to hope. Composers selected are Alejandro Vinao’s and his piece Baghdad Monologue, and a commission from composer Phillip Neil Martin. Baghdad Monologue is a piece of music theatre written for soprano and computer which premiered in 2007. Phillip Neil Martin will write for voice and electronics, exploring the human condition within extreme circumstances
WRAP-AROUND Associated talks can be arranged for all of the performances plus workshops focusing on technology in performance, vocal work and movement workshops for musicians.
