Now in its 41st year, People Show continues to make theatre in its broadest sense, embracing new technologies, while remaining sensitive to the human scale.

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS People Show 118: The Birthday Tour A promenade performance inspired by the People Show’s 40th anniversary. Eavesdrop on dancing boxers, share the fantasies of the roadie, and “live the dream” with the washed-up stand-up comic. (80 mins, no interval 7 on stage, 8 on the road.)
People Show 119: Ghost Sonata An epic promenade performance inspired by Strindberg’s Ghost Sonata, designed for glasshouses, with stand alone performative sound and video installation for theatres. Directed by Josette Bushel-Mingo, with original music by Mike Figgis. (90 mins, no interval, 20 on stage, 25 on the road, with 20+ community participants.)
People Show 120: The Bus Show The twisted history of a family of misfits, a grand tale in miniature, performed in a specially converted People Show bus that turns into a bar after the shows. Perfect for festival programmes. (30 mins, no interval, 4 performances in a day, 2 on stage, 3 on the road.)
FUTURE PRODUCTION People Show 121: Exultation A circus theatre co-production with ‘Circ-elation’ for middle- and large-scale venues. Touring Autumn 2009 / Spring 2010 featuring visuals by The Boyle Family (90 mins with internal.)
WRAP-AROUND Special community and outreach programme for People Show 119 which results in community participants from each venue featuring in the actual production. Cited as one of the first proponents of devised theatre in the UK, the People Show’s education work is of particular interest to students in formal education. Workshops, post-performance discussions and residencies for a range of ages and backgrounds are available. Mixed groups, reflecting the inter-generational, multi-disciplinary make up of the company are especially welcomed.
