ARTISTIC POLICY The Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse are in the course of a remarkable creative renaissance, boosted by Liverpool’s role as European Capital of Culture for 2008. A rich and vibrant artistic policy combines artistic excellence with deep roots in the local community. At the Playhouse, the programme centres on creative interpretations of great plays; at the Everyman, new writing is the central programme strand, and an exciting generation of new Liverpool playwrights is currently emerging. As Capital of Culture 2008 approaches, the Liverpool theatres are keen to establish contacts, collaborations and creative exchange at the international level.
