Renowned for its visionary approach to developing innovative work, Wayne McGregor|Random Dance has redrawn the boundaries for new choreography and thrust the exploration of its dancers’ physical capabilities to an extreme and refreshing frontier. Wayne McGregor, who is also the Resident Choreographer of The Royal Ballet, is committed to the exploration of science and new technologies in performance and learning.

An hour-long breathtaking trip through a soundscape created by Coldplay and Massive Attack collaborator, Jon Hopkins, and Joby Talbot, Entity is a staggering blend of bodies, lights, technology and film which confirms McGregor’s place at the cutting edge of contemporary culture. Technically astonishing and emotionally uncompromising.

WRAP-AROUND
Entity workshops, masterclasses, residencies and post performance discussions are available; for both pre-16 and post/professional. Wayne McGregor’s recent appointment as the British government’s first Youth Dance Champion  ties the company’s learning activities with the British Council’s wider activity.
Wayne McGregor|Random Dance’s education work explores the creative potential of choreographic tasks which reflect and expose the processes of Wayne McGregor and his dancers during the creation of the company’s full length touring works. These tasks may involve spatial and numerical concepts or technologies used in the current touring work and can involve innovative methods such as remote location delivery.
Entity R-Research seminars are also available; giving audiences the opportunity to hear about the scientific genesis of the work, from Wayne McGregor|Random Dance collaborators like cognitive scientist Dr Phil Barnard .
