ARTISTIC POLICY Dog Kennel Hill Project brings together the skills and experience of Henrietta Hale, Ben Ash, and Rachel Lopez de la Nieta. The investigation, collaboration, and risk-taking of the company generates surprising and intriguing dance. With a curiosity for the processes of other art forms, the Dog Kennel Hill Project embraces cross-disciplinary exchange, revealing dance from new perspectives.

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS The Odd Honesty Code In a makeshift Foley studio, four dancers tell and retell mythical stories: movement, live sound, music, and text are woven together to create mysterious shifting perspectives and intriguing scenarios. 45mins – no interval, 4 people on stage, 2 crew A Cross and the Across. Centred around the word devotion the work has an epic sense of ritual, explored simultaneously through a solo and a duet. One forms a framework/backdrop in which to view the other. 15 mins, 3 on stage, 1 crew
FUTURE PRODUCTIONS The Conferring Series (Research title) .Opening April 2009 Explores power, survival and vulnerability within performance using the metaphor of a conversation to draw out energetic qualities and tensions in the act of exchanging. (30 mins) 2 on stage, 2 crew
WRAP-AROUND Post performance discussions – usually chaired by a host organisation, these events unravel the ideas, processes and collaborative method that make up, and emerge from the work. 2–3 hour workshop/master-classes – can be adapted for schools age 15+ or professionals – Based on The Odd Honesty Code, these give an experiential insight into some for the company’s working processes involving a mixture of taught material, improvisation structures and creative tasks. Longer residencies – We are particularly interested in delivering residences for groups that involve working through a creative process for a period (i.e. 1 week) with the option of leading to a performance opportunity.
