ARTISTIC POLICY Bock & Vincenzi explores the relationship between the language of movement and the mystery of the image. Memory, communication, time, the divided self, consciousness, death, and disappearance are recurring themes that develop uncanny, evocative, and intensely visceral stage worlds. They draw together collaborators from a broad range of disciplines: dancers, actors, performance artists, composers, magicians, and film-makers, developing the work with the idiosyncrasies and strengths of those involved.
REVIEW EXTRACTS As the piece ends in a roaring darkness, it’s as if we finally join [the performers]. And you’d be amazed at just what a blast that is. Luke Jennings, The Observer Whatever you make of Vincenzi's slightly abusive messing with the audience's heads, though, it's a performance of staggering emotional force and skill; and a fitting show for the age of what he calls 'the death of reality', and the coming of something much more frightening, and easily manipulated. Joyce McMillan. The Scotsman The joy of the piece was in its repetition…the opportunity to observe so closely the minuatiae of each movement sequence induced a wonderful hypnotic quality. John Daniel, Total Theatre
