You will be allowed to borrow up to four items at any one time: three books for a period of two weeks and one audio visual item for one week. Daily fines on overdue items will be charged at 1.00 Nakfa for each book and audiovisual materials. Under exceptional circumstances it could be possible to arrange an extended loan period if agreed in advance with the Library and Information Manager.

Items can be renewed in person or by telephone as long as another library member has not reserved them. Reservations can be made by completing a reservation slip at the Returns Desk. You will be informed by telephone when the item becomes available and it will then be held for two or three days.

Home video membership
Videos are available to all Home Video members for home viewing only. Membership can be obtained by completing a Registration Form, which requires a sponsor, and paying an annual fee of 300 Nakfa.

Reservations and renewals of Home Videos are not permitted. Members are allowed to borrow two videos for a period of seven days. Fines will be charged at a daily rate of 2 Nakfa on overdue items. Members are urged to exercise great care in looking after videos as lost or damaged items will be charged at the cost of replacement. For the convenience of other library users, members are kindly asked to rewind all videos before returning them.

Membership and admission cards must be available at all times when visiting the Library. Members will be required to show ID upon request.  Home video cassettes are not to be used for group or public showing, not to be used in commercial circumstances or to be broadcast on radio or television.

For more information please contact Library and Information Manager or one of our library and information services team.
