Applications from Institutions

For a UK higher education institution to participate in Erasmus it must first have an Erasmus University Charter(EUC). Institutions must apply online to the EUC via the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency: EUC applications have to be approved by the Commission. The call for applications is made on an annual basis and the deadline this year is 29 March 2012.

The European Policy Statement (EPS) should address the institution's current international cooperation, aims and priorities and quality control. More information on preparing an EPS can be found on the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency website

The 2012 Call for Proposals

The Lifelong Learning Programme (or LLP) brings the European Commission’s various educational and training initiatives together under a single umbrella. When the seven year programme cycle finishes in 2013, the Lifelong Learning Programme will have provided nearly €7 billion of funding for activities at school, at college, at university, in the workplace and in the community. The Call for Proposals for the Lifelong Learning Programme(LLP) is released annually and available on the European Commission's website

The LLP Guide is a reference tool that complements the Call. The 2012 Call is available here. The Guide provides practical information on the various stages of the application and selection process. The LLP Guide comes in three sections;

Part 1: General Provisions
Part 2a: Sub-Programmes and Actions
Part 2b: Summary Fiches.
