ELTeCS projects
Europe and Central Asia 2001

Project proposals are assessed by the ELTeCS Europe and Central Asia project proposal evaluation committee. The committee consists of the Co-ordinator, Manager English Language Networking, and regional ELTeCS representatives.

ELTeCS project funding results spring 2001

1. Quality control across the borders of eastern Europe

Project manager: Galya Mateva, Bulgaria
Aims:

To consolidate associations for quality language services in eastern European countries
To form an international team of inspectors in accordance with EAQUALS standards
To prepare and disseminate guidelines for future international inspections and training events.

2. Workshop on managing non-profit organisations

Project manager: Irina Nalbantian, Bulgaria
Aims:

To strengthen the professional level of teachers' associations in Europe through developing and managing strategies in a changing economic environment
To encourage provision of more and better services for the members of the national associations.
3. Regional mentor training course

Project manager: Anca Colibaba, Romania
Aims:

To strengthen training initiatives in ELT
To facilitate professional dialogue between the main pre-service providers - mentors and methodologists
To build confidence in sharing the expertise, good practice and experience already present in the region.

4. 'Dedicated to drama'

Project manager: Tim Phillips, Slovakia
Aim:

To increase the recognition of drama in education systems in the region.
