ELTeCS project funding results spring 2004

1. East Asia IT workshop

Project manager: Sonthida Keyuravong, Thailand
Teachers from: China (Hong Kong); Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand
Aims:

To bring together the editorial board members to discuss issues of importance for the sustainability of IT links
To invite new people to join to expand the network
To share IT practices and collaborate in IT projects in the region
To work on action plans for the years 2004-2008.

2. EFL teachers as researchers

Project manager: Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Vietnam
Teachers from: China (Hong Kong), Thailand, Vietnam
Aims:

To enable about 20 English teachers to exchange research experience, expertise and practice in different EFL classroom contexts in Asian cultures
To disseminate the outcomes of the seminar to their own schools and institutes
To raise awareness in both teachers and school administrators of the importance of doing research, for the benefit of participants and their colleagues.
