1. Language testing and classroom teaching

Project manager: Miriam Garcia, Philippines
Aims:

To train English Language teachers in the East Asian region to improve their writing of tests so they meet standards of validity and reliability
To develop closer links between and among institutions and ELTeCS members.

2. Seminar on materials development for teaching creative writing in EFL classrooms in the Asia context

Project manager: Tan Bee Tin, Thailand
Aims:

To exchange ideas and expertise on the development of materials for teaching creative writing in EFL classrooms in the Asia context
To disseminate the outcomes in participants' home countries.
3. Teaching maths and science through English

Project manager: Mina Patel, Malaysia
Aims:

To identify existing experience and expertise in the implementation of maths and science in the region
To draw up training modules that can be replicated throughout the region while catering to specific cultural and educational needs.
