To enhance Regional Co-operation among English Language Teachers in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania). |

To encourage and give professional support to teachers working in isolated environments with little state support. |

To help teachers in (b) above acquire the knowledge and skills of teaching literature in English in the classroom. |

To integrate the teaching of English Language and literature in English. |

To help ELT teachers pool their resources, share responsibilities and ideas, identify problems they face in teaching literature in English and search for solutions to the problems. |
