Since the British Council is really keen on bringing youth together. an started last year to debate the impact of costal zones and ecosystem of the Mediterranean wetlands in Egypt between British and Egyptian Scientists.
The network was set between the Environmental and Climate Research Institute in Egypt and University of Cardiff in the UK. During a whole year of collaboration two visits were exchanged between the Egyptian and UK institutes and by March 2006 a successful conference was held in the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation which generates interest among wider audience from related disciplines.
Through our International Network for Young Scientists Programme we help develop quality collaboration in science and technology between the UK and Egypt.
INYS is specifically aimed at postdoctoral researchers or people who have up to ten years postdoctoral experience. We want to concentrate on creating new links rather than furthering already established collaborations.
The conferences are also open to PhD students who are considering applying for postdoctoral fellowships.
Normally there will be an open call for participants to ensure the widest possible inclusion of young researchers in a given field. Our aim is to have as broad a range of institutions as possible represented at the conferences. Once the call is opened it will be announced on the website.
Participants should be researchers from Egypt and an equal number of researchers from the UK ideally 10-30 people from both country.
If you mach the criteria above please contact us for further information.
