Teachers' vacancies

Egypt plays a major role in the British Council’s ELT work across the whole Arabic-speaking region. The British Council has three teaching centres in Cairo: the main centre in Agouza, a smaller centre in Heliopolis and a new centre on partner premises at St Fatima’s in Nasr City.  The centres continue to expand in both General English (Adults and Young Learners) and Corporate Services.

Accordingly, we are regularly looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated TEFL-I qualified teachers looking for an interesting place to live, work and develop. A UK or Egyptian passport is essential.

British Council Cairo is also a regional training centre and there are excellent opportunities for further development in various directions. The centres run regular CELTA courses for external candidates.  For British Council Cairo teachers, sponsorship is available for suitable candidates to complete The Distance DELTA, and the Young Learner Extension to CELTA as well as attend regular INSETTs and various management and general training courses.  For more experienced teachers there is a supported environment to start into teacher training and regular coordinator opportunities.
