How do I pay for the examination
At the British Council offices (Agouza, Heliopolis or Alexandria)
  • Cash
  • Credit card (Visa, MasterCard)
  • Cheque
  • Bank draft

In Alexandria only you can put the payment with your other application documents in our Drop Box if our office is closed. Please do not put Cash in the Drop Box: only cheque, bank draft, bank transfer receipts should be put in the box.

  • Post a bank draft, bank transfer receipt, or cheque to:

           IELTS Registration, British Council

Clearly mark the envelope with your name and test date.

NOTE: The British Council will not accept liability for any delays in postal and banking services experienced. Cheques or Drafts must be drawn in favour of BRITISH COUNCIL, crossed Account Payee, and endorsed on the reverse with candidate name and passport / ID number.

Bank transfer

1) Deposit the registration fee in our bank account and make sure you PRINT your name on the bank transfer or bank deposit form so we can confirm who has paid. Otherwise, your registration will be delayed. Bank transfer Transaction reference must include: Exam Name (i.e IELTS), Candidate Name, Passport or ID Number.

2) Your registration will be held for five days only; if payment is not received within five working days your registration will be cancelled

3) You Must complete this  online form to confirm your transfer. Your registration will not be confirmed until this online form is completed

British Council will not accept liability for charges levied by your bank or delays in transferring funds.

What happens if I have to cancel or postpone the test date I have booked ?
  • If you notify us more than five weeks before your test date, you will get a full refund minus an administrative charge of LE100.
  • If you notify us less than five weeks before your test date you will forfeit the whole test fee, except in certain exceptional cases.

Online payment

When you’ve registered for the test online click `online payment’ on the final page and you will be taken to a credit card payment page. When you’ve entered your details your payment will be confirmed and you will receive an automatic email confirming your LE950 payment. There are no extra charges.
