What are Cambridge ESOL exams?

Cambridge ESOL exams are English language exams for people whose first language is not English (starting 12 years old and above). The Cambridge ESOL examinations are known all over the world and are recognised by employers, universities and national education authorities in many countries.

The examinations cover the four language skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing - and tests your ability to communicate effectively in English.

Not sure which exam is right for you? Test your English with Cambridge ESOL quick, free online test. It will give you an idea of your English level and tell you which Cambridge ESOL exam might be the most appropriate for you, whether you are in the UK or anywhere in the world

There are five different levels so everyone can find an examination to match their ability:

How would the Cambridge ESOL exams help me?

People have many reasons for taking the exams: to improve their employment prospects, to seek further education, to prepare themselves to travel or live abroad, or because they want an internationally recognised certificate showing the level they have reached in English.

Successful candidates receive a certificate and all candidates receive a statement of results outlining their strengths and weaknesses in the exam.

Recognition
A certificate from Cambridge ESOL tells people a great deal about you and what you can do. It is recognised as proof of your language abilities by more than 8,500 employers, universities and government bodies around the world

Need extra exam Practice?

Cambridge English Official Online Practice Tests are designed by Cambridge ESOL to familiarise learners with the format of the real exam and help prepare for the paper-based (PB) and computer-based (CB) exams. Individuals can buy an Online Practice Test for their own use or they can also be bought by teachers and centres to give to their students for exam preparation purposes. Online Practice Tests offer a range of help features to give added support in answering practice test questions. In test mode, learners practice in conditions that are similar to those of the computer-based test
