Winter School

Winter school courses are coursebook based and provide more of an academic focus. Speaking and Listening skills are still as important, but there is more work on writing and reading skills and practising grammar.

Our well-qualified and highly experienced teachers use activities such as games, songs, projects and role-plays to engage your child
We offer stimulating book based courses with a variety of activities such as games, songs, videos, role-plays, drama, projects, real life tasks and computer software to create a supportive and enjoyable learning environment in which the children feel comfortable and motivated to use English.

Improve your child’s ability to communicate in English
Each course is designed to give students a chance to learn English through a variety of interesting topics and themes. They also cater to students’ different learning styles and strategies, which they are still developing at this young age. They will work in pairs and small groups, providing opportunities to focus on real English structures and communication, across all four skills of speaking, reading, listening, and writing.

Keep your child motivated with interactive learning
Students use computers to do research using the internet, access Global Village and the most up-to-date materials to prepare them for their future using English. Students will regularly use the British Council's own Young Learners CD ROM as well as the Internet and other computer programs, adding an extra dimension to their language learning experience.

Exams
Students have the opportunity to take Cambridge Young Learners Exams (Starters, Movers and Flyers) as well as some of the adult exams such as PET, KET and FCE. See the exams section for more information.
