In addition to the most widely-recognised English language qualifications in the world, the British Council also offers a range of professional examinations and testing services.

BULATS (Business Language Testing Service)

BULATS is for companies and organisations that need a rapid, reliable and cost effective way of assessing the workplace language skills of employees, trainees and job applicants.

BEC (Business English Certificates)

Preparing for and achieving a Cambridge ESOL BEC qualification ensure that employees develop real life speaking, listening, writing and reading skills in English for the world of business.
BEC is offered at three levels from intermediate to advanced.

General English certificates

The main suite of Cambridge ESOL General English exams test the ability to deal confidently with English in work, study and social situations. Each examination covers the four main language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Preparing for the certificates will help candidates develop their general English skills.

These certificates are offered at five levels from elementary to advanced.

ICFE (International Certificate in Financial English)

Developed with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) for anyone pursuing a career in accountancy or finance. This certificate can be used as proof of the ability in English necessary to work in an international finance context.
