What is Athens?
Athens is an access management system that allows you to access our online resources from your home or office. Athens has been available since 1996 and is currently in use at over 750 sites in the UK to provide access to online subscription services.
You only need to have one username and password to access many resources

What technical experience do I need?
You do not need any technical background to have an Athens personal account, but you need to be able to access the web and to be familiar with accessing databases on the web.

What kind of hardware do I need to use Athens?
It does not matter which hardware platform you use to access Athens. All you need is a web browser/windows application.

How can I get an Athens account?
Athens Personal Accounts are available free to Knowledge and Learning Centre members. You must also have an email account.
