British Council Egypt
Nile International Environmental Film Festival Orange lozenge left

Part of the British Council's celebration of World Environment Day and raising awareness of climate change and its affects on the environment, we are taking part in the following two UK documentaries which have been selected for the official competition of the 2nd Nile International Environmental Film Festival.

A World without Water

This bold and ambitious film explored the international battle for the ownership of water through the compelling and emotional stories of four families in Bolivia, Detroit, Tanzania and India, as they battled both multi-nationals and their own governments to gain access to life’s most precious resource.

Nuclear Nightmares

Few things are scarier than radiation. But are our nuclear nightmares based on reality? This film investigates the science behind the fear, and talks to the UN scientists studying the effects of the Chernobyl disaster on people and wildlife. It uncovers astonishing evidence that contradicts many common assumptions about the risks of radiation exposure. How dangerous is radiation really? Could it even be good for us?
