The Egypt Exploration Society (EES) exists to promote the study of the history, religion, and culture of ancient Egypt by excavation and by scientific publication of its monuments. All who are interested in these subjects may apply for Associate Membership based in Cairo. Applications should be sent to the Society's Cairo Representative.

The Society arranges lectures site tours, educational Egyptology courses and occasional social events to which all members based in Cairo are invited, and will receive notices of all local activities.
