Arts in Egypt

Arts in the British Council stand, alongside education and English, as a cornerstone of our mission to build bridges of trust and understanding between peoples of the world.

We believe a direct experience of the arts contributes vitally to the development of cultural relations through the shared experience that results from the exchange of new and challenging ideas, the expression and sharing of emotions, the exploration of difficult issues and the increased understanding of other people’s cultures.

We are committed to showcasing creativity from the UK in Egypt, but are equally committed to supporting Egyptian artists showcasing their own creativity in the UK. We support professional development and networking opportunities for Egyptian artists in all art forms. To underpin these activities we will map and document the artistic links between the UK and Egypt to support the strengthening of existing relationships and facilitate the building of new relationships.
