Global Sports Festival in Malaysia
A Festival with an English theme
Janet Ooi reports

Just returned  to the office from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah where we held the Global Sports Festival. It was indeed very sucessful. The Young Leaders, the young people and even the teachers were all charged with enthusiasum and cheered their schools along.

The Young Leaders had an English theme for the games and their refreshments. They had fish and chips on paper plates. All 150 young people went home happy as they each received a prize.

The presence of Malek Mydin, the Malaysian Swimmer who swam the English Channel in August this year, gave the Festival a real boost. The Young Leaders and the young pupils all cheered when Mr Gerry Liston, the Director of the British Council in Malaysia spoke to them in the national language which is Bahasa Malaysia .

Take a look at the Malaysian Dreams and Teams web page created by our Young Leaders from Sabah College, which was launched at the Global Sports Festival.
