We support initiatives to strengthen public administration and service delivery. We work with partners in central, regional and local public administrations to develop open, effective and efficient government.

What we offer

Through the British Council network of offices and long-term presence in over 100 countries we provide access to expertise in public administration reform from the UK and around the world.  Our partners benefit from our in-house expertise and our understanding of public administration systems in the countries where we work. We have effective consultancy management, teamworking and consultation skills and exceptional experience of organising training.  

How we work

The UK has extensive experience of public service reform, based on delegation, accountability, flexibility and expanding choice. We give access to this experience and to local and international consultancy resources to help address local needs.

Our working methods reflect these values through encouraging participation and responding to changing circumstances. We help make reforms sustainable through developing individuals and organisations.

What we do

We offer technical assistance management services to support public sector institutions, government agencies and civil society organisations.

We work with our partners to develop transparent, accountable systems to deliver public services. We offer project management services in:

			policy development and co-ordination
			strategic planning
			reforming local and national government systems
			public service delivery
			capacity building
			human resource management
			developing public sector leadership skills
			web-based systems.
