The British Council is managing the EU-China Legal and Judicial Co-operation Programme, funded by the European Commission. Here are some examples of the response from those involved with the programme. 'I like to describe my visit to Europe with the ancient Chinese proverb that says, "You should not only read ten thousand books but also travel ten thousand miles." Participating in the EU-China programme widened my outlook and broadened my horizons. It made us all sharpen our intelligence.' Zhu Weiguo, Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council, Year One, Lawyers Component, Group Leader 'I have been able to combine and use all the ideas I learnt in Europe to help us in the congress. It was good to be able to bring together different ideas and knowledge.' Lei Jianbin, Criminal Law Department, Legislative Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress 'The knowledge we gained in Europe and have brought back to China is already having impact.' Yu Lei, Judge, Economic Division, Supreme People’s Court |
