SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION

There will be one main application round a year when it will be possible to compete for DelPHE funding. Please refer to the table below for an up to date list of deadline dates. For more detail about the application schedule for 09 - 10 please take a look at the timetable for round five.

Application round     Deadline date     Status
Five (09-10)  Various*  Open

The DelPHE portfolio is currently under represented in several countries; for DelPHE round five we are particularly interested in applications from the following:

Countries: Cambodia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Mozambique, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Sudan and Yemen.

Applications from other DelPHE countries are welcome but will be given lower priority at selection. Similarly projects in the health sector are a low priority given that health currently represents the greatest proportion of all DelPHE projects.

Deadlines vary in each country, please see the full list of round five local deadline dates*. Application forms must be submitted in English to the British Council office in the country of the lead partner. For general contact information view the British Council offices worldwide website or download a copy of overseas managers contact details (MS Word).

All applications are reviewed by stakeholders in-country and shortlisted against the selection criteria. Only a percentage of applications from each country will be shortlisted and forwarded to the UK. The DelPHE team in the UK will summarise proposals and present recommendations to the DelPHE Selection Committee.

The Committee will assess each application on merit before making a decision. The committee's decision will be final. Applicants will be given feedback on decisions by the local BC office where the proposal was submitted. Successful applicants will be asked to submit a detailed activity and budget plan for each year of activity which will need to be approved by the British Council office before funding is released.

When completing the application form, please refer to the selection criteria and financial guidelines and read the guidance notes which provide step-by-step instructions on how to complete each section of the application form. For up to date information on travel to a particular country, applicants should refer to the FCO travel pages.

All forms and guidelines are updated each application round. Only applications submitted on the correct form will be accepted.
