AIR-POLLUTION CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY THE CZECH CLIMATE ADVOCATES IS READY TO BEGIN!
The team of Czech climate advocates organised a conference called ‘Air Pollution and its Solutions in Small Settlements’ that took place on 16th February in Ostrava, capital of one of the most polluted regions in Europe. The aim of this one-day conference was to help the representatives of small towns and villages with their efforts to tackle the huge air pollution problem caused by the local heating sources.

PROJECTS FOR YEAR 3 SELECTED
The Climate Advocates are working on three topics:
CZECH THE TAP!
The project aims to increase the number of restaurants where tap water is served and to encourage tap-water drinking through a promotion campaign focused on consumers. The tap-water team will use several marketing tools, such as a sticker with the project logo, to encourage restaurants to join this initiative. The consumer campaign will run simultaneously. GREEN OFFICE
The project’s objective is to facilitate the introduction of environmentally friendly practices in offices and to initiate a change of employees’ as well as employers’ behaviour in everyday work. The tangible goal of Green Office project is to commit selected companies and institutions to introduction of so called ‘Twelve Rules of a Green Office’. In a period of three months, companies and institutions will be able to use an interactive website and a help from the advocates to achieve an improvement of their office practices.
AIR POLLUTION AND ITS SOLUTIONS IN SMALL SETTLEMENTS
Four climate advocates are going to organise a one-day conference to bring together representatives of small municipalities with experts from NGOs, governmental bodies and commercial companies (producing and selling alternative heating technologies). During practical workshops, representatives of communities that converted their heating systems to a more environmentally friendly technology will be able to share their experience with representatives of municipalities that are still facing this issue.
