Partnership: Czech Republic helps to fight unemployment

The British Council Czech Republic entered in partnership with the city of Znojmo and the Private College of Economics (PCE) in the project “Znojmo speaks English” (ZSE). ZSE is a part of a broader initiative aimed at fighting youth unemployment. The city has decided to refund the costs of the B2 or C1 level certificates to every successful student candidate with permanent residence in the city. We will offer two special FCE sessions this year in Znojmo for a special price. The PCE will run preparatory courses and will also refund 2000 CZK to their students who successfully take the exam but do not have permanent residence in the city. Find out more about this socially responsible project at http://www.znojmokolumbus.cz/ and http://www.svse.cz/.

Changing the name and logo of Cambridge ESOL

2013 is the 100th year anniversary of Cambridge English exams. Coinciding with this important milestone, we are also changing our name to Cambridge English Language Assessment.

The first Cambridge English: Proficiency exam was taken by three people in 1913. Now, over 4 million candidates a year take Cambridge English exams around the world. This enormous growth reflects how English has evolved into a key skill, and how our exams focus on the real-life communications skills candidates need for success at university, in the workplace and for immigration.

Cambridge English Language Assessment is the new name for University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. The new name and new logo will be introduced gradually during 2013, and all exams, certificates, statements of results and other official documentation, will change from November 2013.
