How can I register for an exam?
Contact the university or education institution where you study and register directly with them for an exam. The only exception is BMAT, ELAT, STEP and the TSA test. These registrations are made through the British Council.
How much does the exam cost?
If the cost is not covered by your institution where you are registered, the following fees will apply. Please see the table.
When and how can I pay?

The fees must be settled on the day of the test at the very latest. You can pay:

  • by credit card at the reception of the British Council.
  • in cash at the reception of the British Council.
  • transfer the fee into our bank account, in this case please contact our collegue Pavlína Matušková by email: pavlina.matuskova@britishcouncil.cz
Where the exams take place?
Exams are sat on the premises of the British Council. Contact address you can find here.
What if I am registered for the examination and a serious reason prevents me from taking the exam?
As soon as possible contact Pavlína Matušková by email: Pavlina.matuskova@britishcouncil.cz  2 days before the examination at the very latest, otherwise the fees will be charged in full.
What does the fees include?
  • Administration fee – receiving and secure storage of exam documents, the hire of examination hall and invigilation during the test.
  • DHL service – sending the exam materials back.
Is the list of institutions which cooperate with the British Council exclusive?
