CAMBRIDGE COMPUTER-BASED EXAMS

Cambridge ESOL exams are now available to be taken as a computer-based test. Other than the method of completing them, the exams are exactly the same, and they both lead to the same internationally recognised Cambridge ESOL certificate.

What are the advantages of computer-based exams?
  • Completing an exam with keyboard and mouse instead of paper and pen (especially the writing part) can be  a substantial advantage for some candidates.
  • You can register shortly before the exam (even 2 weeks before the exam day)
  • Fast access to your results – you can view your results online just 3 weeks after the test. Certificates are available 5-6 weeks after the test.
  • During the listening part you will have headphones with adjustable volume.
  • You will be able to edit your answers on the screen during the test and complete them in the order you choose. You will see an overview of answered and unanswered questions.
  • There is an online timer on the screen and other help functions.
  • Test dates are different from paper-based tests so you have an opportunity to take the test outside the 3 main exam sessions.
