The British Council in Prague would like to hear from freelance teachers for possible work starting in January 2012. It offers a first class teaching environment, on-going development opportunities and attractive remuneration. We are looking for teachers with an excellent track record of teaching and proven professional expertise. We are particularly interested in teachers with experience of teaching children in the 7-11 age group.
To be considered you must have:
- An externally validated, internationally recognised first teaching qualification. This is typically a CELTA or Trinity Certificate.
- At least 2 years of full-time classroom teaching experience following qualification.
- Legal status to work in the Czech Republic as a freelance teacher.
If you cannot fulfil these criteria please do not apply as we cannot consider you. Most of our teachers have additional advanced qualifications and several years of teaching experience.
If you fulfil these criteria then please send a brief CV initially to steve.oxley@britishcouncil.cz or michael.owen@britishcouncil.cz . We would also be pleased to answer any questions you may have about the posts.
Working for the British Council offers you a unique opportunity to gain experience and develop skills in international cultural and educational relations. You will be part of a modern, rapidly changing organisation with worldwide influence and impact. British Council jobs offer you scope for versatility, initiative and creativity in a stimulating and supportive environment.
You will be encouraged to pursue your personal and professional development via training, on-the-job-coaching, and individual study.
You can work with us in administration, management or project management roles at various levels. Native speakers can join our global network as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). Find out more about TEFL jobs.
We are committed to equality of opportunity and positive action to promote it. We believe that our Equal Opportunities Policy and a Diversity Strategy help to ensure that there is no unjustified discrimination in the recruitment, retention, training and development of staff.
