ELT Blogathon Competition

The TeachingEnglish Blogathon is an online event that brings together teachers of English to share good practice in ELT and find out more about blogging. During the month of February 2013, teachers of English in several countries will be contributing to the TeachingEnglish blog marathon.

What is the Teaching English Blogathon?

Just what it sounds like - a blogging marathon. The TeachingEnglish Blogathon is an online event that brings together teachers of English to share good practice in ELT and find out more about blogging. Starting on 1 Feb 2013, teachers of English will contribute to the TeachingEnglish blogging marathon which lasts until 28 Feb 2013. Teachers with the biggest number of interesting, engaging and motivating blogs will win fantastic prizes!

Come and join our Blogathon competition and find a new motivation for your work - you might even win an all-inclusive trip to the IATEFL conference in Liverpool-

What is a blog?

A weblog, or more commonly a blog, is a personal web page made up of frequently updated pages. It is used to voice opinions, ideas, views and comments on a particular subject matter, interests or current affairs. People who create blogs are known as bloggersand the process of keeping a blog is known as blogging.

TeachingEnglish Blogathon aims to invite all teaching professionals, whether you are teaching at university or pre-school level, to find out about trends in the English Language Teaching. Moreover, this is a great chance to tell us more about how you use technology in your teaching and get inspired by ideas from other teachers.

Where will it take place?

It will take place on the British Council Teaching English website.

What do you need to do?

If you’ve got something interesting to share and discuss with other teachers, why not join our TeachingEnglish Blogathon? All you need to do is fill in the online application form and wait for further instructions - we hope you will enjoy blogging with us!

Please submit this form on or before 3 February 2013. Late applications will not be considered.

We will announce our winners on the 8th March on the Teaching English website!
