IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is the language of communication.

IELTS is jointly managed by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL), the British Council and IDP - IELTS Australia. IELTS conforms to the highest international standards of language assessment. It covers the four language skills - listening, reading, writing and speaking.

IELTS is recognised by universities and employers in many countries, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. It is also recognised by professional bodies, immigration authorities and other government agencies.

The British Council office in Havana is now a fully accredited Centre for the IELTS exam.

CANDIDATES TALK ABOUT OUR IELTS CENTRE IN CUBA

I have chosen it because the IELTS is the preferred test by most of universities in the application processes for accepting you in postgraduate courses and programmes. Now I know why: the exam is really demanding and it tests all your language skills. All the necessary information about the IELTS Test is given by the officials at the British Council office, Cuba. The information is very accurate and there are many ways for getting it: you can go to their website, call by phone, send an email or go to their office.  Examiners, of course, follow strictly the rules, but, at the same time, they are very pleasant. It makes you more confident in taking the test. (candidate from Haiti)

Very good service, all staff is highly professional and experienced, they gave all relevant information accurately and quickly to me …(Cuban candidate)

…I came to Cuba from Salvador to take the test because I wanted to know the country and have a new experience, so I had in mind some tourism too...I am very pleased with the service I received from the British Council, they were all very helpful and followed up the whole process, since registration to results delivery in my country. Definitely I am really impressed!  (candidate from Salvador)
