What financial assistance can the British Council provide for Arts projects? |
In all sectors where the British Council works in Cuba all our activity is determined by our strategy and objectives. In the case of arts projects, the British Council is not a promoter in the general sense of the word - everything we do must be related to our objectives for Cuba and must be agreed with our partners in Cuba and with our advisers on cultural activity in London. For artists in Cuba interested in taking activity to the UK there is also Visiting Arts, which is funded by the British Council among other institutions. For artists in the UK interested in taking activity to Cuba there is a British Council scheme called 'Grants to Individual artists' managed by the Visual Arts Dept of the British Council in London. |

The opportunities which exist include the British Council's programme of activity in Cuba which offers exchange possibilities within the framework of existing projects, and Visiting Arts which can provide small amounts of funding to help take Cuban cultural activity to the UK. |
