An integral part of the Active Citizens programme is the international exchange with a partner organisation from the UK. Croatian participant have been linked to the Creation Development Trust from Wales, community development project and social enterprise set up by members of the local community of the village Blaengarw to address the social, environmental and economic needs within the Garw Valley. The exchange will take place in June 2011.
The purpose of these visits is to gain a wider, international perspective on issues relating to sustainable development, participation and democratic engagement in other words to exchange experiences and learn form each other and build a platform for future cooperation.
Attachments form a crucial part of the overall aims for the Active Citizens project in that they may significantly help in achieving new experience and expertise and in establishing new contacts and networks as well. These networks should be the foundation for further cooperation between organisations and individuals and allow the participants to test the knowledge and skills which they have gained during the AC training in “real” life.
