4. LAUNCHING OF THE BOOK:
Sanja Nikčević: New European Drama or the Great Deception (Meandar, Zagreb, 2005)
The book illustrates the rise of the contemporary British trend of explicit violence (the so-called “in-yer-face” drama or the new brutalism), about its influence on the European theatre and imposing this trend as “the new Europen drama” in the late 90-ies. The book was published in May 2005 by the Zagreb publisher Meandar in a prestigious Intermedia edition. Great interest for this book has resulted in translation of its parts in magazines (Polland, Hungary and Slovakia) as well as publishing a short version of the book in the prestigious New Theatre Quarterly , published by Cambridge University Press.
