An essential guide for today's young leaders

A collaboration between youth project leaders and the British Council has resulted in the publication of a magazine for young people committed to making a difference.  

Action 4.4 Annual Call for Proposals

Youth support systems’: Projects encouraging creativity and innovation in the youth sector

Call for proposals aiming to support projects encouraging creativity and the introduction, implementation and promotion of innovative and qualitative elements in non-formal education and youth work.

Priority under this call will be assigned to projects focussing on:

  • media literacy of young people
  • e-youth work

Deadline for submission of applications: 30 September 2009 (date of the postmark being conclusive)

Projects must start between 1 December 2009 and 31 March 2010

Duration minimum 12 months and maximum 18 months

ACTION 3.1

The UK National Agency has now closed Action 3.1(Cooperation with Neighbouring Partner countries) for Youth Exchanges and Training and Networking projects due to budget restrictions. We can not accept any applications under Action 3.1 from June 1st 2009 until further notice.

What is YOUTHSPACE?

YOUTH SPACE is our new dissemination site for the European Commission funded by Youth in Action Programme in the UK! The aim is to make sure that results, end products and experiences of Youth in Action projects and participants are shared and used by young people and organisations in the UK and beyond. YOUTHSPACE promotes good practice; provide a real insight into real projects and real people. It is a platform for young people and organisations alike to share training tools, websites, personal experiences, diaries, photographs, magazines, music, films and much more …

YOUTHPASS

The European Commission has devised the Youthpass Certificate as a recognition tool to be used by young people and others when taking part in Youth in Action activities.

It aims to assist employers, educational and vocational institutions in recognising the skills young people have developed through participating in an international and non-formal educational project. Please note that at present it is the only from of accrediation for non-formal eduaction learning recognised at European level. It is designed to increase young people's self confidence and gives them an additional evidence for the portfolio of achievement.

Youthpass is currently available fro those taking part in

       Youth Exchanges

       European Voluntary Service

       Youth Support Systems

A Youthpass Certificate is being developed for Youth Initiatives (Action 1.2). and for those participating in European Voluntary Service (Action 2) It is now an integral part of the evaluation process for the volunteer and the organisation. Every volunteer who completes their European Voluntary Service will receive one It replaces the previous Annex. and all young people taking part in the Youth in Action Programme are from now on entitled to a Youthpass Certificate

THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT YOUTHPASS

It is web-based, very easy to use and accessible.

The learning components are based on the Key Competencies for Life Long Learning

1. Communication in their mother tongue

2. Communication in a foreign language(s)

3. Mathematical competence and basic competencies in science and technology

4. Digital competence

5. Learning to learn

6. Interpersonal, intercultural, social and civic competencies

7. Entreprenurship

8. Cultural expression
