The European Parliament and the Council have declared the year 2009 to be the European Year of Creativity and Innovation. In this context the Directorate-General for Education and Culture will host a conference and exhibition in Brussels on 2 and 3 March 2009 to demonstrate how DG EAC fosters creativity and innovation in its various fields and showcase projects which have been funded by several EU programmes.  The events will take place at the Commission's Charlemagne building.

The electronic platform EVE, which facilitates the spread and exploitation of results arising from the programmes and initiatives of DG EAC, will be launched during the event.

The Conference will provide a platform for dialogue between policy makers and project promoters in the fields of education, training, entrepreneurship, culture, youth, citizenship, regional policy, etc. It should also examine the most appropriate ways to provide sustainability to the initiatives from the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009.

In case you wish to attend the Conference, you will find the draft programme and the link for registration attached to this letter. Please note that participation at the Conference is free of charge, but travel and accommodation will be at the participants' expense.
