Comenius in-service training grants are available for staff involved in school or further education to attend a training activity in any of the 30 participating countries across Europe.

What activities can I apply for?
Participants can attend formal courses for teachers or can apply to job shadow a colleague in a partner institution. Training activities can be language or non-language focused.

Why should I apply
Undertaking a training activity provides an excellent opportunity to refresh your language skills, improves your practical teaching, helps form lasting school links and friendships with other teachers and institutions and provides a greater understanding of school and further education across Europe.

What funding is available?
From up to 2000 Euro for 1 week, 2500 Euro for 2 weeks and up to a maximum of 3000 Euro for 6 weeks. A higher grant may be awarded where special needs or exceptionally high travel costs are involved.

Easy step by step guide to applying
Step 1 - Find a training activity through the Comenius training database or your own contacts
Step 2 - Contact training organiser to reserve a place
Step 3 - Complete the 2009 Comenius application form
Step 4 - Send the form by the deadline date
