2-Week Primary teachers' project

The 2-Week Primary Teachers' Project supports the training of primary school teachers engaged in language teaching at KS2.
Teachers are recruited by regional coordinators to attend training that incorporates 1 week of language tuition in their target language and 1 week of job shadowing in a school in the country of that language. Participants, from England, could potentially receive a contribution toward supply cover (up to £525) in addition to their Comenius in-service training grant, through further support from the Department for Children, Schools and Families
Coordinators, from England, could also receive £750 to recruit and support a group of 10 or 15 local teachers.
Most group visits occur close to half term.

Could you be a coordinator?
Could you recruit 10 or 15 teachers from schools to undertake a two-week trip to Spain, France, Germany or Italy during the October 2008 half term?
You might be a regional coordinator with responsibility for the Primary Language Strategy; other coordinators have been based in local authorities or universities with links abroad. So far, they’ve supported more than 400 teachers to take part and promote language teaching.
Coordinators can work with their own partner institutions abroad or British Council can help link you to providers and schools abroad.
