Information on the funding levels for 2009 Preparatory Visits and Contact Seminars

Most Comenius Preparatory Visit grants combine flat-rate allowances with allowances based on real costs. If you attend a contact seminar, where your living costs are covered by a seminar fee, your grant will be based on real costs only.

Preparatory Visits
Your travel costs will be supported based upon your actual expenditure. However your living costs will be supported by a flat rate allowance determined by the duration of your visit and the country in which the visit takes place. There are no maximum grant levels for preparatory visits, however the visit cannot last longer than 5 days.

The flat-rate allowance to support your living costs while on the visit is known as the subsistence allowance.

Contact seminars
A contact seminar grant will cover the following: the actual costs of your door to door travel expenses to the location of the seminar, and a ‘package fee’ set by the hosting agency which will cover accommodation for the duration of the seminar, all meals and any cultural activities set out in seminar agenda.
