Preparatory Visits enable you to spend up to five days with your potential Comenius partners to discuss and develop ideas for your Comenius partnership.
Preparatory Visits offer funding for you to visit your partner institution to get to know your partners and start filling in your partnership application together*.
You can use this time to discuss areas of your future partnership, such as the work plan, the means of communication and language you will use during the partnership and exchange visits. It's also a great way to experience the education system and culture of your partner country.

Yes. Preparatory Visits are designed to help you plan a future Comenius partnership with an institution you already have established links with.
If you are looking for Comenius partners, you can apply to participate in a Comenius Contact Seminar. These events take place across Europe, and are designed to help you meet like-minded colleagues for future partnerships.
You can also find partner schools on eTwinning, the online community and collaboration space for teachers across Europe. Register for free at any time to find partners and communicate online.
* Please note, you do not receive funding for hosting a Preparatory Visit. Each travelling partner must apply for funding from their own National Agency. Each country may have different deadlines.
