1.Please note that all UK schools and colleges from nursery through to further education are eligible to participate in a Comenius partnership. We may refer to schools/colleges, or to “institutions” in this document. “Institutions” is used as a general term referring to all schools (from nursery through to secondary/sixth form and including vocational, technical and special schools) and colleges, including sixth form and further education colleges.

Comenius Preparatory Visits and Contact seminars Comenius School Partnerships Comenius In-service Training Comenius Assistants Comenius Centralised Actions
Preparatory Visits are now available for those wishing to meet established partner institutions in order to prepare Comenius school partnerships' applications for the 2009 deadline (To be confirmed). The attached form should be sent to: Tom Birtwistle, British Council, Comenius, 10 Spring Gardens, London SW1A 2BN, to arrive at least 6 weeks prior to the proposed date of travel. While staff will try to process applications which are received with less notice if at all possible, we suggest you retain proof of postage in case this is not possible, and/or in case the application is delayed or lost in the post. Please note that you must receive approval for the visit prior to travel. Do not make any financial committments without this approval.
Contact seminars for schools wishing to make contact with partner institutions in order to submit a Comenius school partnership application for the 2009 deadline (to be confirmed) should submit the same form under the same conditions as preparatory visits (see above). The deadlines for 2008 are as follows - *Please keep proof of postage in the form of a postal receipt*:
- 30 June 2008 (for activities starting between 1 October 2008 and 31 December 2008)
- 30 September 2008 (for activities starting between 1 January 2009 and 31 March 2009)

The deadline for applications to be or to host a Comenius assistant in the next academic year has now passed. The deadline for applications for the 2009 academic year will be announced later this year.
